yes,Samhain is a day i really look foreward to thru out the year!! it used to be allll about candy,costumes and fun. scary movies, popcorn balls, the rustling leaves. oh, Halloween, Devil's Night...my day indeed!! but now it's about even more. that is not to say that i won't be doing my share of trick or treating with my little witch--because she will have candy or we will all be damned!!
Samhain is the witches new year-a fresh start, new beginnings and honoring our ancestors who have crossed before us. i have my ancestors altar in our front hall on our 100 year old piano. it looks wonderful. i have my candle ready to lite and place in the westward facing window, i will have my table set with extra plates-so as the spirits drop by they will be welcome. now all i need to do is reflect on what i need to let go of and what i want to attract for the next year. therein lies the question..what do i want,what do i need?? as my little witch used to say as a toddler "what could be?" ahh, i'll think on it tonight as i listen to the wind and rain hitting the windows while lying snug in my bed. i'll count my blessings and they are MANY. samhain is tomorrow --what do you want for the coming year??
